The Cooperative is situated in the Municipality of Malay, Province of Aklan. Organized as an Association in April 19, 1999 by the Security Exchange Commission (SEC), Region VI, Iloilo City through Hon. Frolibar Bautista Acting Mayor of Municipality of Malay, Aklan and Mr. Liberato Bacunawa was elected as President. As its membership and asset grows. The Cooperative expands its services to include provision of small loans to its entire member.
For almost 4 years, the Cooperative operate as Association but in May 11, 2005 it was registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Region VI and bear the name BORACAY ISLAND HOPPING ADVENTURE MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE (BIHA-MPC) through the effort of newly elected Chairman of the Board, Mr. Rigoberto G. Gelito Jr.

For then, BIHA-MPC is duly accredited Cooperative by the Municipality of Malay to conduct Island Hopping Activity around the Island of Boracay and surrounding Islets w/ in 3 nautical miles radius and vice versa and its members posses the necessary franchise issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Region VI, iloilo City.
Now, BIHA-MPC is consisting of 7 Board of Directors, 20 employees more than 1,500 boat crews. As of May 16, 2012 Regular member is 140, and Associate member is 79 with a total of 219 members, under the leadership of Mrs. Marivie M. Rado, Chairwoman of the Board. We are looking forward to expand our Cooperative in some many more development plans in the near future.
